My kids still play with my
old “vintage” Fisher Price Little People. I find my people all the time; between the couch cushions, under the beds, lined up on the windowsills…
Inspired by some of my favorite childhood toys — we had the house and the farm, and I remember playing with them for hours. These days I get to watch my kids play with the very same toys, except now they’re called “vintage” for some unfathomable reason. 🙂
Presenting December’s free holiday desktop wallpaper! As relatively new parents to a two-year-old, last year was the first year my husband and I really got to play “Santa” to our daughter. I can tell you right now, this Santa thinks living at the North Pole is overrated. If this Santa had a choice, she’d jet off to her winter home in the Carribean every January.
I’m just sayin’. Please enjoy!
Another new holiday item in the shop this week – a printable elf paper doll set. This little girl comes with several mix-and-match outfits, as well as a sheet of do-it-yourself patterns so you can design your own fashionably festive wardrobe. Shed make a great stocking stuffer and holiday activity for the kids! You’ll find her in the Print-a-Doodles section of the shop.
I’ve been busy working on these new paper doll patterns for the Print-a-doodles section of the shop. I used to love to create paper dolls as a kid, and this week’s project reminded me why… getting creative with the clothes is the best part. I could spend hours coloring and decorating dresses and t-shirts and pants, mixing and matching with different accessories–it was always less about the play and more about the process for me.
Anyway, the result is two paper doll sets, one boy and one girl. Each set comes with two pages of pre-made outfits, plus a third template page that’s blank so you can design your own wardrobe. The dolls are designed to be printed on heavy 8.5 x 11 card stock for durability, but you could also add magnets to the back to create a fridge playset. You can print as many copies as you like, which make these an entertaining, yet inexpensive, party favor or gift. Just be careful with the scissors!
I hope you’ll find these sweet dolls versatile and inspiring.
