… but she didn’t listen.
I had a long flight from LAX to Hawaii last week (life is rough); there was no in-flight internet, and the book I’d brought was only mildly engaging. I decided to work on a new Valentine’s doodle, just for fun.
This little girl is available as a small print or poster in my Etsy shop.
What the heck have I been up to lately? Incubating a human being, that’s what!
We’re very excited to be adding a new member to the Doodles family. According to our last ultrasound, baby girl #2 will hopefully be making her debut sometime in late August. We were able to get one somewhat blurry profile shot to share… this little girl is very active (just like her big sister) and I have a feeling the next few years are going to be a wonderful whirlwind. Sisters! Oh my.
The shop is still running despite my absence here–I haven’t been very good about updating it, but orders are still being filled and I’m taking on a limited amount of custom design work, so don’t be shy if you’re in the market for a new shop banner or logo. I have a feeling things will be quieter around here until after baby joins us.
Caroline (who has a fantastic name, not that I’m biased) was one of my first custom design clients and is still a joy to work with. Recently she needed a simple business card created using the logo I designed for her a while ago. It was her idea to add the detail work in the back to help the card pop a little, and I think it came out beautifully!
I’m cheating and using an existing design for this week’s Illustration Friday theme, transportation. This personalized kids’ banner I designed a while back came to mind immediately. On a personal note, my daughter has a sudden fascination with the “cool bus” (school bus), to the point where I may need to print one of these posters with her name for her birthday!
There’s a new October wallpaper in progress, but in the meantime, here’s a doodle I created a few years ago that perfectly fits my mood. Picking apples and carving pumpkins, getting lost in corn mazes, yummy baking and hot soups and stews–fall is officially here and I’m loving it. “I found the perfect one” was one of my first illustrations inspired by this wonderful autumn feeling, and it remains a favorite.
