Once again, I spent a long time deliberating exactly which veggies would make the cut (teehee.) Potatoes and onions fell by the wayside; the former were not visually stunning (although they’re one of my favorite foods) and my drawings of the latter were barely decipherable. Summer squash was a close second to pumpkins, but pumpkins won out for being more easily identifiable. I fussed over the cabbages in row 5 for a long time, and I’m still not certain they won’t be mistaken for Brussels sprouts, but hey, what can you do? And yes, I realize tomatoes are technically a fruit, not a veggie. Just play along. There’s a reason I’m not a scientific illustrator.
